Course Description

The SMSTS is the benchmark qualification for anyone responsible for running a construction site.

This five-day CITB Site Safety Plus course is designed for site managers, project managers and senior professionals who carry legal and operational responsibility for safety on site. It goes beyond theory, giving you the practical judgement, structure and confidence to plan, manage and control work safely in line with current legislation, including CDM.

Recognised across the UK construction industry and aligned with Build UK’s Training Standard for site management, SMSTS is not optional at the top level. It is the qualification clients, principal contractors and employers expect to see as a baseline.

If you are leading work on site, this is the standard you are measured against.

The certificate is valid for five years. To maintain it, you must complete the two-day SMSTS Refresher before it expires. If it lapses, you will need to retake the full five-day course.
