Who are the course modules suitable for?

The courses are suitable for fire door installers, inspectors, maintainers, site managers, property and facility managers. As well as anyone who is looking to improve their knowledge of fire doors.

"I have been installing fire doors for years, why do I need a training course?"

This is a common question we get asked.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 stipulates that anyone who installs, maintains, inspects fire safety equipment including fire doors must be a ‘competent person’.

A ‘competent person’ is defined as someone who has relevant training and qualifications. It has been law since 2006, however it wasn’t until after the Grenfell Tower Fire that some aspects of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order have been properly adhered to.

Post Grenfell there has been a greater scrutiny on fire door installers, therefore many clients insist on contractors having proof of competency.

How long does it take to complete your courses?

There is no time limit on how long you have to complete a course.

Our classroom courses are generally 1-2 days depending on which one you choose to do.

Our online courses take between 6-12 hours, however it depends on your style of learning and how you choose to approach the materials.

Are your courses endorsed or recognised by any certification bodies?

We will be adding more accreditations and endorsements over the coming months including CPD recognition and CITB.

How long does the certificate last?

The certificates for our courses are good for 3 years. At which point you will need to complete a refresher.

Can I sign off fire doors?

Yes. What we actually recommend that you do is provide high quality record of installation or inspection reports rather than certificates.

Why are your courses so much cheaper than everyone elses?

There are many reasons for this, but the main two are:

1) We built and designed our courses and website ourselves. Therefore, we did not have to pay a marketing agency vast sums of money to produce our materials.

2) We have a firm belief that other courses on the market are overpriced and under deliver. Our aim is to produce high quality courses and deliver them at a reasonable price. There is no logical reason for a fire door course to cost over £1000. Fire door surveying schemes that cost £4000+ are overpriced and not suitable for the fire door industry.
