Our face-to-face practical fire stopping training takes place at our Wolverhampton training centre. It is a 1-day course. The morning is dedicated to the theory and knowledge, in the afternoon we move on to practical training where you get to seal various different penetrations.
Upon completing the course, you will be awarded a Fire Stopping Installation certificate from FireQual for this Recognised Programme.

Course Description
This FireQual Recognised Programme develops your knowledge and practical skills in passive fire protection. It is suitable for anyone involved in fire safety who needs a clearer understanding of how passive fire stopping is specified and installed on site.
The morning focuses on essential theory covering fire safety and passive fire protection principles, current laws and building regulations and manufacturer requirements.
In the afternoon, you will take part in a practical installation session, applying passive fire protection products on a range of real penetrations including cable trays, combustible pipes and metal pipes of varying sizes, using the manufacturer’s standard details to ensure correct and compliant installation.
We provide six dedicated practice bays, giving every learner their own space to work independently.
This ensures substantial hands-on experience applying passive fire protection products including fire batt, mastics, high-pressure sealants, intumescent wraps and more, with focused tutor support throughout.

Upon completion of the course
This course finishes with an assessment. Upon passing the assessment you will receive a FireQual PDF certificate. This certificate is a key component of showcasing your proficiency and demonstrates part of your competency in fire stopping installation works. The certificates are valid for 3 years from the date of passing the assessment.
Please note that a competent person is someone with sufficient skills, knowledge, experience and behaviours.
