Qualification Description

The ABBE Level 3 Award in Fire Door Inspection is a regulated qualification designed for anyone who needs a clear, structured understanding of how to inspect fire doors properly.

The programme covers the legal framework, compliance requirements, inspection techniques, common faults, and the correct methodology for assessing fire doors across all types of buildings.

It provides the depth and clarity needed to carry out inspections with confidence and to recognised national standards.

This is a two-day course either in person or online webinar. You then work toward your portfolio of evidence

How does it work?

After completing the two-day training, you begin the qualification stage. The ABBE Level 3 Award is made up of four units, each requiring you to produce evidence that shows you can inspect fire doors correctly and safely. You build this portfolio through written tasks, practical inspection examples, and short knowledge checks.

Everything is submitted through our online system and assessed by qualified assessors. You have up to twelve months to finish, though many learners complete it much sooner.

Once your portfolio has been reviewed and signed off, you will hold a regulated qualification that provides substantial evidence towards proving your competence as a fire door inspector, in line with UK legislation and recognised industry standards.

Lunch and Parking Available If You Choose Classroom.

Upon completion of the course

Once you pass all the required units, you are awarded the ABBE Level 3 Award in Fire Door Inspection.

This is a lifetime qualification, issued electronically by ABBE, with the option to request a printed certificate for an additional fee.
